Mai Ahmed Fatty, a lawyer by profession and a former interior minister, is a hypocrite regarding the current demolition going on in the Gambia.
With Mai’s level of education, I expected him to advise the Barrow administration that the first step was to provide an alternative place for those affected by the demolition to move instead of starting with the demolition and leaving the people to suffer without a place to go.
The whole process may have been well intended, but the way and manner it is done is wrong and devastating to the affected Gambians, most of whom are living in abject poverty. The demolition has increased more havoc, suffering, anger, and increased poverty!
President Adama Barrow needs to dissolve his cabinet because the Advisers are not even patriotic enough to tell him the truth about what needs to be done without fear of loosing their jobs, reprisal, or retaliation.
The Gambia with it’s meager resources cannot afford a bigger government or unnecessary “Advisers” who are grossly inept and incompetent and yet paid salaries which could otherwise be diverted to help create a more productive economy.
The government needs to
concentrate on fighting corruption and drug peddling; invest more into the young Gambians to reduce youth unemployment; focus on modernization of our broken Healthcare system, which is a death trap; transform our education sectors, agriculture system, civil service, and security sector.
What has Mr. Adama Barrow changed?
The Gambia is not Barrow Kunda Mr. President Adama Barrow. Adama Barrow lacks innovative and sound ideas to move The Gambia to a promise land.
It takes patriotism, honor, dignity, trust, empathy, sincerity, respect for the rule of law, democracy, equal rights, justice for all, respect for fundamental human rights, and value systems of the people you govern.
Sincerely,
