Brikama Area Council has informed the public that, the Local Government Service commission has reached conclusion on its 10th October resolution recommending the suspension of Director of Finance.
This comes following council resolution recommending the removal of CEO Modou Jonga and Finance Director, Alagie Jeng.
The commission has resolved to levied a month suspension without salary against the Director Finance.
“Mr Alagie Jeng, the Director of Finance and Ebrima Sawaneh, Director of Administration were not found responsibile for the wrongful appointments of Bai Sait Jeng Muhammed Ebrima Jallow. Mr. Alhagie Jeng been the mastermind of their appointment is to be suspended for one month without salary’, the commission said.
The Commission also said Mr Alagie Jeng, the Director of Finance was not directly found responsibile for the appointments and placement of his close relatives, Malick Jeng, Sulayman Jeng and Omar Saidykhan under Finance Department as alleged.
The Commission has said that its findings have revealed that the seven license collectors who were alleged to have been suppressing council revenues were not found wanting. Therefore, the commission instructed that they should go back to work immediately. They are as follows:

The Council, in its Monday announcement, said, It is worth noting that, subsequent resolutions against the Chief Executive Officer and the suspended Director of Finance recommending their removal on the ground of misconduct, abuse of office and incompetence were equally submitted to the commission for their review and action.
The Local Government Service Commission concluded by stating that all the staff members who are alleged to have been involved in malpractices should be engaged in person and given fair hearing before resolutions are passed or decisions are made.
