Earlier this week, His Excellency Adama Barrow received the credentials of the new German Ambassador to The Gambia, Klaus Botzet, at the State House in Banjul.
During the meeting, the President congratulated Ambassador Botzet and described the occasion as a symbol of commitment to strengthen bilateral ties. He also commended Germany for its support in various areas of governance and development.
Ambassador Botzet also reiterated Germany’s commitment to elevate relations and the opening of an embassy as a testament, saying that cooperation will continue to create a win-win situation for both countries.
President Barrow also welcomed the President and CEO of CRS International, Sean Callahan, and his delegation to the State House in Banjul. The President expressed his appreciation for the work of CRS in supporting and complementing the government’s development agenda through their assistance to vulnerable groups in Gambian communities.
One important initiative the President highlighted was the School Feeding Program, which helps sustain children in schools. President Barrow thanked CRS for their efforts and expressed his desire to strengthen their partnership further.
The President equally praised the Minister for her dedication to the change agenda by constructing school infrastructures to ensure that everyone has access to education.
The President of CRS, Callahan, recognized President Barrow for receiving the Peace Award and referred to The Gambia as a beacon of peace. Callahan also lauded President Barrow’s unwavering leadership and celebrated 60 years of operating in Gambia in collaboration with the government towards the national roadmap.
