Earlier today, I held a welcoming reception and cultural display for Mayor Bart Tommelein and his entourage who are visiting the City of Banjul from the 15th-22nd of January 2024 to discuss collaborative initiatives as well as to celebrate a milestone of 2 decades of friendship and partnership.
It was a very emotional celebration because the institutional memories of both Councils for the past 20 years were remembered.
The City of Banjul and Ostend’s friendship and partnership have proven to be an invaluable source of collaboration, cultural understanding, and sustainable development.
Over the past two decades, our partnership has allowed us to learn from each other, exchange cultural experiences, and tackle shared challenges more comprehensively and efficiently.
The event was attended by the City Link stakeholders, National Assembly Members, Service Chiefs, Councilors, Management and Staff of BCC, Religious leaders, School Principals, Cultural Groups, and the Community.
As both Cities continue to build and nurture our friendships and partnerships, we can pave the way for a more interconnected, cooperative, and harmonious Collaboration for the future generation.
