This man here is Ensa Singhateh, a self-proclaimed visa counselor.
He told my brother who is desperate to leave the country for Europe, that he helps people to get Schengen visa with his connections.
He would ask for a total amount of D175000 from which D30000 is to be paid upfront.
My brother who was convinced by him with camouflage tactics decided to pay the D30000 and submitted his documents.
He said the whole process takes about 4 to 5 weeks. However, he was lying to my brother for the past 2-3months until 2weeks ago when we decided to withdraw on the case and asked for a refund and the passport back.
The case is currently at Manjai Police Station handled by Inspector Drammeh. We reported the case last week Wednesday. He was summoned to the station with 2 others who works with him and were given 2days period to pay the money.
After 2days, they came up with D20000 and claimed to bring the rest the following day together with the passport until today we don’t have the balance and the passport.
We reached out to Inspector Drammeh in several occasions for follow ups but he would ask us to exercise patience that he will call us when he gets the remaining money. Our last update was on Friday when he said the man brought an additional D6000 with the passport and would bring the balance(D5000) today Friday.
However, when we reached out to inspector to know if we could come get the D6000 that was paid and the passport because he mentioned earlier that the money paid is not safe with him. But he responded negative. Today my brother went to the station to meet him(Inspector Drammeh) but he already left the station and the junior officer on duty said he has not been informed about any money being paid other than the D20000.
Back on TACTICS: Ensa has a driver who will drive him around like a minister and he( the driver) would always claim that his boss(Ensa) is very busy and they don’t have time because they have a lot pending to do.
Ensa receive phone calls in the vehicle claiming he is busy in the office.
He would send you a picture only one passport with visa payment receipts and would claim those the ones ready to be collected from Dakar.
Please Gambians, I would blame myself first for condoning this. But again please I know the country is hard but be careful out there. I’m sending awareness messages because I know we are not the only victims and I’m sure he is still hunting for more.
Tomorrow is my ultimatum with Manjai Police Station and would proceed to plan B if I don’t get a positive result.
