DEPUTY SERVICE CHIEFS LAUNCH SPECIAL JOINT SECURITY OPERATION AMID PROTESTS

Deputy Service Chiefs and their Chiefs of Operations met at Police Headquarters in Banjul on Thursday for a high-level security coordination meeting focused on peace, public safety and order.

The meeting reviewed the prevailing security situation and agreed on measures to strengthen inter-agency coordination, operational readiness, and the protection of lives, property and critical national infrastructure.

As part of the key outcomes, the security services announced the immediate commencement of a Special Joint Security Operation. The operation will bring together personnel from the GPF, GAF and other sister services to enhance security presence across the country.

Officials said the joint operation will focus on coordinated deployments, increased visibility, and stronger inter-agency cooperation. They stressed that duties will be carried out professionally and with full respect for the rights and safety of all persons.

The Chiefs reaffirmed their collective commitment to maintaining peace and ensuring that the current situation is managed in accordance with the law and established professional standards.
