Dear First Vice President Bakary K. Jammeh,
Dear Second Vice President Ebou Faye,
By: Lamin Jassey
Twelve years ago, you set out with a shared vision to elevate Gambian football. Today, as your remarkable tenure with the Gambia Football Federation comes to a close, I write to extend my deepest personal gratitude and the profound appreciation of the entire secretariat for your extraordinary service.
Your leadership over the past decade and a half has fundamentally reshaped our institution and the sport across our nation.
First Vice President, through economic uncertainty and evolving financial demands, your stewardship kept the federation grounded, accountable, and sustainable. You built transparent financial frameworks, managed complex allocations, and ensured that our resources directly supported the growth of the game at every level. Abaraka Jammeh Jilanka
Second Vice President (Competition & Technical Development): Your vision transformed how football is played, structured, and nurtured in The Gambia. From modernizing our national competitions and grassroots programs to decentralizing our football to elevating technical training for coaches and players, your work built the foundation for our recent historical successes on the continental stage. Managing the day-to-day operations of the GFF alongside both of you has been a privilege. Beyond the strategic decisions and administrative milestones, I will miss your wise counsel, unwavering dedication during challenging moments, and genuine passion for Gambian football. You leave behind a stronger, more resilient federation and a legacy that will inspire the next generation of administrators.
On behalf of the Secretariat and the wider football community, thank you for your 12 years of selfless service, leadership, and friendship. I wish you both immense success and fulfillment in your next chapters.
